Join Dash Getaways Travel Tours & Gift Shoppe for a feel-good, nostalgia-filled day celebrating some of Indiana’s most beloved legends. We’ll depart Plymouth at 8:30 AM, with a pickup in Rochester around 9:00 AM. 

We travel to Muncie, Indiana for the Bob Ross Experience. This immersive, self-guided experience invites you to explore at your own pace as you step inside the original studio where The Joy of Painting was filmed, view authentic artifacts, and relive the calm voice that reminded us, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents,” and encouraged us to add “happy little trees” wherever we pleased. Bob Ross believed, “This is your world — you’re the creator,” and that spirit of creativity and joy comes to life throughout the museum.

 Afterward, enjoy lunch on your own at a great local restaurant hand-selected by Dash Getaways. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Fairmount, Indiana to visit the James Dean Museum, where staff-guided storytelling brings to life the legacy of Hollywood icon James Dean, along with memorabilia from Jim Davis, creator of Garfield, celebrating two famous Hoosiers from the same small town. We’ll conclude the day with a respectful visit to James Dean’s gravesite before returning home, arriving back in Rochester around 6:45 PM and Plymouth by approximately 7:15 PM. This thoughtfully planned day trip blends art, pop culture, and Hoosier history into one unforgettable experience — all without the hassle of driving.
